About some open problems in continuous and discrete dynamical systems

In the first part of my talk I will present some results and open problems related to the notion of alien limit cycles. They are limit cycles that bifurcate from the singular orbit. I would like to discuss some new results and perspectives. In the second part, I will describe the properties of a certain discrete dynamical system in the real plane.
