Reproduction numbers and sub-threshold endemic equilibria for compartmental models of disease transmission

I will talk about the results presented in the article of P. van den Driessche and J. Watmough. The definition of the basic reproduction number (R0) and the criterion for the existence and stability of super- and sub-threshold endemic equilibria for R0 near one will be discussed.
