National Science Center grants awarded

We are proud to announce that two SONATA BIS grants are awarded to Marek Cygan (Robot generalist - advancing robot learning via reinforcement learning and VLAs) and Lorenzo Clemente (Analysis of quantitative models of computation).

Congratulations as well to Piotr Gwiazda for winning the MAESTRO grant for the project that will be implemented at ICM UW: Research challenges of partial differential equations inspired by state-of-the-art statistics and machine learning algorithms.

Call for aplications: 1 postdoctoral research position in the scientific project "XAICancer: Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Cancer Imaging", financed by National Science Centre

The National Science Centre project "XAICancer: Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Cancer Imaging", led by dr. Neo Christopher Chung, is offering a postdoctoral researcg position in the Institute of Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw.

Requirements
We expect that candidate at the moment of employment hold a PhD degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or related computational areas of study - the degree can be obtained no earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in project - and have an excellent background in one or more of the following fields: programming (Python and others), data analysis, data science, classification and prediction, statistical modeling, mathematical analysis of an algorithm.

We are announcing a call for three postdoctoral positions in the research staff (mathematics) at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, as part of the Maestro research project No. 2023/50/A/ST1/00447, funded by the National Science Centre (NCN).

Application Requirements:

An application should include Curriculum Vitae that:

  • presents an overview of the background and scientific achievements of the candidate;
  • lists all the candidate’s research works (including not yet published manuscripts);
  • gives a list of three experienced researchers that may provide references for the candidate.
