A+ categories for Mathematics and Computer Science
Mathematics and Computer Science held at MIMUW received the highest ratings (A+) in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's evaluation of the quality of our research for the years 2022-2025.
Three A+ categories were awarded in Mathematics across Poland (University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, and IMPAN), and only two in Computer Science (University of Warsaw and AGH).
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and thanks to everyone who contributes to our scientific excellence with their daily work!

Best Student Paper at the CPM conference
Arkadiusz Czarkowski received the Best Student Paper award at the CPM 2026 conference for his single-author paper Improved Bounds on the Sum of Exponents of Runs in a String. It presents the results obtained as part of his master's thesis, written under the supervision of Jakub Radoszewski.

We invite you to listen to the lecture given online by Terence Tao as part of the EMS Lecture Series on Mathematics Education entitled How should students control their AI diet.
EMYA workshop
We kindly invite you to the EMYA Workshop that will take place August 24–28, 2026 at the Banach Center of Mathematics in Będlewo, Poland.
The scientific program will run over three days, with morning lectures followed by lightning talks. The topics will cover various mathematical fields, including Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, Topology, Analysis, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), and Applied Mathematics.
MAT-BIO Exchange
We invite you to join the MAT-BIO Exchange Summer School 2026 that will take place from 31st of August to 4th of September 2026, at our Faculty.
Registration is open until the 8th of June.

Maths Beyond Limits is a mathematical programme for passionate pre-university students (aged 15-19) from all over the world.
MBL Poland 2026 will take place in Rycerka Dolna, Poland, through 6-19 of September.

Call for applications: postdoctoral position in “Algorithmic challenges of molecular evolution” research project
We are announcing a competition for a postdoctoral position (assistant professor) in the Opus "Algorithmic challenges of molecular evolution" research project, funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (2024/53/B/ST6/03852). Principal investigator: Prof. Anna Gambin.
