Some results on non-integrability of the Painleve equations

I will discuss the problem of integrability of the Painleve equations i.e. existence of meromorphic 1-st integrals. The method is based on the Morales-Ruiz theorem that claims that integrability implies that connected component of the Galois group is Abelian. This result provides obstructions to the integrability.
