Quasi-hereditary algebras and, more generally, highest weight categories
first appeared as categories of perverse sheaves on a stratified topological
space. Another example is the category O of Bernstein-Bernstein-Gelfand.
In the talk I will recall the classical Ringel duality for highest weight
categories and discuss two different points of view on it; the first one
given by Koszul duality for bocses, the second by the abelian envelopes for
exact categories. This is based on joint work with J. Kuelshammer and A.
Bondal.
