This presentation aims at showing a mathematical model of the dynamics of psychotherapy based on research in psychotherapy. In this context one of the studied elements are the influence of the external environment understood as a group of people living in a strong relationship with the client. The high level of relevance of this approach and the in-depth analysis is due to the fact that many of the mental problems that the client/patient is struggling with originate from the interpersonal relations occurring in a given social group, such as dysfunctional families with pathology, which shape the client’s psyche from an early age. On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that the external environment does not always show negative emotions and destructively affect the client. When it is a positive influence, it can be crucial in supporting the client as they struggle with the mental problems they face. This means that therapy can be strongly influenced by the issue the client is dealing with,
the influence of the external environment, and the development of the client’s emotional stability. However, the most important factor is the relationship between the client and the therapist. Despite the fact that the psychotherapist is a qualified professional, they may not be able to help the client satisfactorily because the final result of the therapy will depend on their experience, their approach to life, and the influence the client has on them. The creation of such a model is the starting point for assessing the final effect of psychotherapy with known initial conditions and this in turn may be crucial in matching the client’s needs and behavior to a psychotherapist who meets his expectations.
