Precubical sets are important examples od directed space; they also play an important role in concurrency theory. The main goal of this talk is to show that the space of directed paths on the final precubical set is homotopy equivalent to the disjoint union of configuration spaces of n points on the real plane, with one component for every natural number n. I will also discuss several applications of this result.
