Reynolds equation has been study from the end of XIX century when O.Reynolds introduced it  to study the behavior of a fluid confined between two surfaces in relative motion separated by small distance.  The distance between the surfaces "h" is a coefficient in the equation  which becomes unknown when a force is applied. We consider different situations, when a slide moves over a flat surface and
journal bearings systems. The results presented in the talk concern existence and uniqueness of solutions.
