The JAK-STAT signaling pathway regulates the expression of numerous genes related primarily to the immune response and is activated by cytokines, mainly Interferons (IFN) and Interleukins (IL). I will present our original model of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway activated by interferons type I (IFN-α, IFN-β) and type II (IFN-γ). In the model, we proposed a novel negative regulation mechanism based solely on phosphatases. The model was developed based on experimental data for macrophages.
