Requirements for students starting their studies from 2021/22

During second-cycle studies provided by the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw, it is possible to obtain free-of-charge teaching qualifications - to teach mathematics in primary and secondary schools.

The programme of study, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 25 July 2019 on the standard of education preparing for the teaching profession, includes the courses listed in the table below, which also shows the distribution of courses in each year, together with the number of hours of study, their type and the number of ECTS credits.

The preparation for teaching qualifications includes:

1. 1) Psycho-pedagogical courses: Pedagogy 90h, Psychology 90h, pedagogical-psychological practice 30h (min. total 210h and 10 ECTS); 
2. 2) Foundations of didactics and voice for teachers courses (min. total 60 h and 3 ECTS)
3. 3) Didactic preparation for first subject teaching or leading the first classes: didactics of the teaching subject or classes didactics 150h, teaching practice 120h (min. total 270h 15 ECTS)
