In turn, The Office for Persons with Disabilities at University of Warsaw (BON) provides support to students with special needs when their condition makes it difficult to follow the standard course of study/to study in regular mode.
What problems can you contact BON with? You can also find support at the Faculty of WMIM
What support is offered at the Faculty of MIM?Adjustments to the course of study and sick leave
It is the vice-dean for student affairs (otherwise known as the KJD, i.e. the head of the teaching unit) who makes the decision to adapt the course of study or grant a sick leave on the basis of an opinion from the UW Office for Persons with Disabilities (BON). You need to contact the BON because the adaptation of the course of study must be adapted to your needs.
See possible adaptations and their restrictionsNot everyone needs to become a computer scientist/mathematician
Due to the nature of studies in mathematics and computer science and future work in these professions, the skills of long-term focus on a problem, efficient coding and reproduction of information and teamwork, among others, are very important. Therefore, the adjustments to the course of study granted at the Faculty of MIM can only be temporary. They are intended to help you develop ways of coping with the effects of your health problems. By granting them, we are planning to reduce them gradually in the following years of study. Thus, if the adjustments granted are not successful, it may be worth considering a change of the field of study.
