Reuse your Lab Activity: Contiki SerialRadio app, but instead of querying sensors transmit just some constant numbers.

Prepare a Cooja simulation with 3 Sky motes running your app. Use UDGM Distance Loss radio medium model. Mote 1 sends unicast messages to Mote 2 (transmissions are almost always successful), Mote 2 to Mote 3 (transmissions are sometimes successful), and Mote 3 to Mote 1 (transmissions are almost never successful). You may need to configure TX and RX success ratios and use some Disturber motes.

Observe ContikiMAC successful and unsuccessful transmissions (i.e. preambles and acknowledgments) on Timeline. Find your constant numbers in transmitted messages in Radio messages. Check which mote uses the most energy in Mote radio duty cycle.
