Models of population dynamics and their applications in genetics.
See abstract of the course.

Schedule:
1. Principles of mathematical modelling and basic models: Malthus', Verhulst's, and Volterra-Lotka models. (1/2 h)
2. Simple stuctured models. Examples from genetics with infinite number of populations and their asymptotics. (1 h)
3. Cell cycle model as an example of a generation model. (1/2 h)
4. Age structure Mc Kendrick' model and its generalizations (size, maturity and phenotype structured models), asynchronous exponential growth. (1 h - 1 1/2 h)
5. Some probability models in genetics (1/2h - 1h)
