Differential operators of Calabi-Yau type

Abstract:

Diferential operators of Calabi-Yau type are order four differential operators with properties abstracted from geometry of one parameter families of Calabi-Yau threefolds. The motivation for studying thi sclass of mirror symmetry and an attempt to understand Calabi-Yau threefolds with Picard number one (as it was explained in the talk by Michal Kapustka (IMPANGA, November 28). I will describe the state of art of hunting for CY(3) operators and discuss some examples with very special properties (no MUM points, many MUM points, finite local monodromy etc.)
